Interviews, archives, and family histories
I interview you, gather the important details, and turn them into a clear record your family or team can use. Choose a plan, a written archive, or a practical guide for the people taking over.

You may have years of files and photographs, but no record of why a decision was made, how a relationship began, or what a difficult experience taught you.
Working Memory helps you capture that context while the people who know it can still tell the story.
Three ways to get started
Affordable · Make a plan
For when you know something matters, but need help deciding what to save and where to start.
Moderate · Record the story
For a founder, family, or creative practice ready to turn memories into a written record.
Comprehensive · Prepare a handoff
For a retirement, sale, or leadership change where the next person needs more than a set of files.
These are starting prices. We agree on the interviews, finished materials, timeline, and total cost before work begins. Private legacy books are available by custom quote.
Not sure which fits? Request a consultation and tell me what you want to preserve.
How it works
We talk about what you want to preserve, who will use it, and which package fits.
I guide the interviews and help you gather useful documents, photographs, and other sources.
I organize and write the material. You review it for accuracy and flag anything that needs care.
You receive the finished record in the format we agreed on, ready for the people who need it.
Your interviewer and writer
I’m a writer and interviewer based on the Oregon coast. For more than a decade, I’ve helped people explain their work and record the experiences that matter to them.
My writing has appeared in Pitchfork and Tin House. I produced five seasons of Future Prairie Radio and have worked on oral histories about caregiving, community health, artists, and the north Oregon coast.
Before you begin
No. Start with what you have and what you want to keep. Identifying useful people, stories, and source material is part of the process.
We agree on who can access the work and how it can be used. Confidentiality agreements are available, and sensitive material can be restricted or held for later.
The number of people involved, the amount of source material, and the finished format all shape the project. We settle the scope, schedule, and price before starting.
Yes. A private legacy book can tell the story of a person, family, or organization. Books are quoted separately to suit the research, writing, and finished format.
Start with a conversation
Request a 30-minute consultation. In your message, mention who the record is for, the package you’re considering, and any deadline. If you’re not sure where to start, say that.
