~ some of our favorite collaborations ~
Mobile Projection Unit
Moving image artists and video mapping programmers showing experimental, site specific works displayed all around Portland with a mobile studio. Using the city as our canvas.
Sculptural interface driven by climate change data, fire, water and interactive gesture
Sound tree with headphones and interactive floral buttons. Each button was connected to a different sound, allowing participants to collaboratively play an experimental sound piece with each other.
Glowing, gauze headdress that tracks rotation of the head to move spotlights and pan sound around a space
Plush gloves that use the impact of a high-five to trigger light and sound responses wirelessly
An interactive VR sculpture exploring healing human touch and control through a modern alchemy of poetry, virtual reality, and kinetic sculpture practice. This work is informed by queer mystics such as Saint Teresa of Ávila, as well as traditional and modern shibari. Posits bodily consciousness, physical devotion, and quiet time as central to knowledge of ourselves and a higher feeling.
Ilios is a collaborative experience which is fully realized when three users gather inside a geodesic dome that is completely mirrored on the interior. Inside the dome are three geometric objects that are designed to sense the position of your hand and respond to your interactions with a light and sound projection. The outcome is an infinite reflection of colorful light as well as a musical composition the users create with these instruments, however, these instruments require zero musical ability. They are programmed in such a way in which no combination of interactions will result in anything other than beautiful ambient music. Participants are outfitted with Subpacs.
Belly of a Whale
Multi-sensory installation featuring a glowing bathtub of sensory beads below a wire frame sculpture of a whale. Using red and blue to color the room with led light, the viewer was invited to take a moment alone in the space and imagine our connection to the earth, the implication of plastic and other pollutants, and what the womb of a whale filled with eggs might feel like.
Projection mapping and video installation documenting the spaces where people are put on pause – from modern structures plagued by loneliness, isolation and anomie, to the in-between areas where people exist without relation, identity or history. A series of video works exploring these realms as sites of identity formation, relation and history. Decompressing non-places by slowing them down, facilitating a ceremonial rhythm for the liminal procession of people passing through forgettable time.
Eye tracking to alter sound — research for future projects
Body Image Ltd.
Installation with multiple pieces for guests to play with. Each piece was able to sense the participant's presence and respond through haptics and the display of an ever-changing musical and visual symphony. Interactive wearables and fashion, projection mapping, custom audio, and playful visuals.
Immersive festival of femme artists making and sharing noise, sound, music, performance, interactive installations, video, ritual, and healing.
Early technical sketches for an immersive sensory pod that plays with themes of biodiversity, neurodiversity and human~earth connection.
